- My concept is to engage the user at first instance, using Experience Design – Cognition, Sensory perception and Emotion. I was trying to get into a mans head and how they feel about machinery. Having the power to control a machine excites them, brings an adrenalin rush. I thought combining real images from the war and placing them in the game would incorporate more meaning to people.
The home page automatically comes to life with a deep voice saying: “Lets prepare you for BATTLE” Exciting dramatic music is playing throughout the video which is psyching the player up to play the game
2.Moves on to a interactive heart rate monitor, with the sound of a fast beating heart beat in the background – its showing a build of excitement, engaging the user
3. Then onto showing ADRENALIN at work – Deep voice goes onto say :- Adrenalin improves the performance of the man behind the machine – Improves REACTION TIME, increases MENTAL ALERTNESS. The tanks will move forward into the screen and the Adrenalin Neurotransmitter will be moving around in the background
4. Then moves onto show Human Intuition, another underlying important factor to use on the battle field – You protect your brothers – you have their backs. I wanted to incorporate something i learnt from my research, when a veteran watched a film based on a tank crew fighting in the war, of which he said – “The movie’s violence was intense but could not match the intense emotion he felt with his comrades”
The voice over says: “Listen to your Intuition. The Tank is your home, inside is your family…”
5. Using inspiration from the Robot in the design museum exhibition, i wanted to emphasise on the connection between machine and man and how working together achieves a powerful result. The voice says “You’re a Team, Machine & Man. Use the power together to drive the tank to VICTORY! – PLAY FOR FREE”
